I had a long career (22 years) in a local primary school last 12 years as HLTA where I delivered many of the arts and craft and design technology lessons to the children. I was responsible for gathering resources and teaching the pupils new skills. We covered so many skills from drawing and painting thorough printing and sewing to making wooden picture frames, and pottery coasters, we even made some moving miniature fairground rides! I love learning new craft skills and have tried many different things. I love making pottery but since I retired, my greatest enjoyment comes from making things out of fused glass and I love to share these skills with others.
We meet every 4-6 weeks, not on a regular schedule due to availability of activity leaders and venues. Some activities are held in the village hall (when we have larger numbers of people) many are held in members homes. Some activities are split into different sessions, some are held in the day and some in the evening to accommodate different member’s availability and also limited resources. Cost varies depending on whether we have a specialist teacher or if we need to buy materials. We are always happy to have suggestions from members for new activities. Contact me if you would like to suggest an activity or have skills you would like to share.
