Our groups are the heart of our WI! It’s where friendships flourish and hobbies thrive. Whether you’re a keen walker, book lover, theatre enthusiast, gardener, film goer, foodie or crafter, there's something for everyone!
The group walks every fortnight on a Monday morning at 9.00am. The walk of between 3 – 6 miles is at a pace to include everyone, and we always finish with refreshments at a local café. We go away for walking weekends too!
We are a group with a vast range of reading genres. It's often interesting to read a recommended title that you yourself would never have thought of picking up. This leads to very interesting discussions and boy do we go off piste at times! We read, talk, listen and laugh a lot. We meet every six weeks at a member’s home for our discussions over a cuppa and maybe a piece of cake!

A group of theatre lovers who are keen to see shows in MK , local theatres and London at discounted prices. You’ll need to be able to make a quick decision on buying tickets as we never have long to book! This is also a safe space to ask fellow members if they want to see a show with you.
We have a programme of monthly activities throughout the year. We have talks to give us tips for our own gardening and to learn more about horticulture and we meet in the Village Hall or members’ gardens. We always have a plant swap. We have demonstrations such as how to plant up hanging baskets at our local nurseries and flower arranging as well as hands on making of a Christmas floral arrangement. We have a RHS membership and visit gardens including RHS Wisley and Barnsdale Gardens in Rutland, as well as members’ gardens. We have an annual competition. Members who wish to join the Garden Club pay an additional fee annually of £15 for speakers.
A group of enthusiastic film-watchers who meet up whenever there’s a great film. We organise regular daytime and evening trips to local cinemas, taking advantage of the various discount offers. This includes the popular Tuesday lunchtime Silver Cinema, your opportunity to catch a recent film for £3.50 along with tea and biscuits. (This is also open to the public). We have also enjoyed occasional home-screenings with snack buffets!
Our large number of members means there are always lifts available, with time and date options too.
We cook a dish involving the theme chosen for that month which could be a type of food e.g Italian, an essential ingredient such as ginger, or even any recipe from a particular cook book. We go to a member’s home and take our wonderful food with us and amazingly, although we never say to each other what we are cooking, we always end up with starters, main course and afters so it’s rather like having a meal out with lots of people we know. We don’t expect the hostess for that month to seat everyone as we never know from month to month how many ladies will be taking part so the size of your house kitchen is irrelevant. We also go to chosen pubs and restaurants during the year which has proved very popular and of course in order to get the ‘education’ factor into the visit out, we always critique them!
We meet every 4-6 weeks, not on a regular schedule due to the availability of activity leaders and venues. Some activities are held in the Village Hall (when we have larger numbers of people) many are held in members’ homes. Some activities are split into different sessions, some are held in the day and some in the evening to accommodate different members availability and also limited resources. Cost varies depending on whether we have a specialist teacher or if we need to buy materials. We are always happy to have suggestions from members for new activities. Contact Claire Burbridge if you would like to suggest an activity or have skills you would like to share.
We have a wide variety of sessions, so there’s always something for everyone! Some of our recent 2025 art sessions include Autumn art glass, pottery painting, mandala stone painting and napkin printing.
We are pleased to announce a new group, suitable for everyone. We meet for a couple of hours every 4th Tuesday of the month from 7pm and every 4 weeks on a Wednesday morning at 10.30am to play a variety of board and card games. Whether you're an experienced player, returning or new to some of them, don't be shy! It's a friendly and fun atmosphere.
Our Sherington venue is 🐿️ Squirrel HQ in the White Hart Pub car park. There's no charge to participate but our hosts appreciate it if we buy drinks.
The next Tuesday dates are 24th February and 24th March and the Wednesday morning date is 18th March.
